Amsterdam Techno Sessions With Dj Surgeles (Axis Records )

Amsterdam Techno Sessions is a weekly Techno event, held in Amsterdam. Every week local and international artists are invited to showcase their work and personal interpretation of Techno. For this Saturday, the 20th of July 2024, we prepared another stellar Techno night, headlined by the Dutch Sci-Fi Techno master, DJ Surgeles. Our resident DJ, Marco Ramos is in charge of the warmup. Join us from 23:00 until 07:00. Tickets are now available at Resident Advisor. DJ Surgeles (Kole Leijen) is an energetic musician who began exploring music at a young age. By eight, he was introduced to house music, and soon after, he received his first turntables. He started producing techno and in 2005, gave a demo to Jeff Mills, who quickly recognized his talent. Mills featured Surgeles' mix on Axis Records' website and invited him to create more work for his label. Surgeles gained further recognition by winning a production competition at the Amsterdam Dance Event, leading to his feature on Dave Clarke’s White Noise radio show. In 2007, he started hosting his own parties and in 2009, he launched his record label, Underground Freedom Fighters (UFF) Records. His collaborations with Mills continued, including a notable project in 2017 inspired by an alleged alien abduction story. Recently released his "Philokalist" on Oscar Mulero´s Warm Up Recordings.
