Blank Mind: Lemon D (90-95 Set), Lynne, Tammo Hesselink, Sam Purcell

Following the label’s ‘Lost Paradise: Blissed out breakbeat hardcore 1991-4’ release, Blank Mind welcomes Lemon D, Lynne alongside Tammo Hesselink & Sam Purcell to Ormside Projects on November 15th. Kevin King aka Lemon D needs little introduction, being a pioneer of hardcore and jungle, releasing on labels such as Metalheadz, V & Planet Earth as well as setting up the famous Valve soundsystem with Dillinja. It’s a rare opportunity to see one of UK dance music’s pioneers in an intimate venue, for a special set diving into his collection of records from the 90s. Lynne, a Japanese artist who explores the outer realms of experimental and drum ‘n’ bass. With over a decade of experience, her sound evolved from its DnB roots to include more textural, obscure and experimental layers. She has established herself as an artist who thrives in the liminal spaces between genres. Blank Mind artist Tammo Hesselink is one of Amsterdam’s finest DJs, he is drawn to stripped-back building blocks that allow him to get creative and find new sounds in what he combines. Whether that’s the bass-driven swagger of UK sounds or the more psychedelic and loopy end of techno, what he does is mix it all into something unpredictable yet compelling. They’ll also be joined by Blank Mind label boss Sam Purcell warming things up.
