They’ll invade the original Rock & Roll Hotel DJ booth to sling hot wax for the MILFs, babygirls and polite trade. Joining Free Pussy will be two women many call mother: Kiernan Laveaux and Chelle. Her current projects include a long-running residency on the Lot Radio, the psychedelic live band ensembles Spiral Generator, Slug Beat, and JZKL, as well as the Sweet Abyss musical imprint and event series for downtempo deviants and adjacent genders. Her gig schedule includes nearly every club & festival you’d probably want to be at or talk about in your group chats at home - we could list them but that would be boring and she would really hate reading all that. Find out what this cosmic diva has been up to since her last appearance at Free Pussy (gooning and gaming). As DC’s moodiest transsexual DJ and our sister-in-arms, Chelle masterfully drags turbo gays, bisexual art hoes and insecure heads through heartbreak and bliss. If you don’t burst into laughter or tears during one of her sets, you probably just need to be held. A few bona fides for the uninitiated: For Your Pleasure, where she turned Suns Cinema into thee party destination for polyamorous creatives; a sunrise set that’s become the highlight of the DMV’s beloved electronic/punk summer camp, Zap Outdoorz; and a tough-as-nails flush at Detroit’s most decadent and chaotic queer party, Club Toilet. As for your hosts…these ladies have built a reputation of indulging their bass desires, being hot, and arousing attention on and off the decks. Free Pussy began as a way to make DC’s vinyl scene much more gay and playful, while bringing hot wax to the cunty masses. They’ve spent nearly a year organizing regular vinyl nights at their favorite bars (Showtime and Sinners & Saints) as well as a sultry 4th of July BBQ (IYKYK); all while hosting some of the best women and trans selectrixxes in the game. But in the end, they’re just mouthy broads that love digging, nasty house music, and long walks on the beach. Mommy’s Day is a celebration of their titular party’s anniversary…and mothers everywhere.
