Chin up, kings :: Sunday, June 22 @ 8pm, we're hosting a viewing party for the historic premiere of the world's first televised drag king competition. Hosted by Mr. Showbiz himself, 'King of Drag' will feature 10 contestants competing for the title and a star-studded slate of guest judges including Kathleen Hanna, Cole Escola, Lisa Rinna, and Sasha Velour. We'll have local legends, Maxxx Pleasure and Myster Mel E Kiki, live and in the flesh, to add some masc magic and virile vamping to the proceedings. ABOUT THE HOSTS Maxxx Pleasure Maxxx Pleasure is a rough-around the edges rock n' roll drag king with a soft and sensitive center. Over an illustrious 10 year career, he has: performed at Bushwig, the Austin International Drag Festival, Sasha Velour's Nightgowns, and Switch n' Play; opened for Chappell Roan in the spring of 2024; starred in an award-winning short documentary; won the Brooklyn Nightlife Award for Drag King of the Year and been nominated for the NYC Glam Awards Best Drag King every year since they brought the category back in 2022; been seen in Vogue, Refinery29, NowThis and his own YouTube channel which gives advice to new drag performers. Myster Mel E Kiki 'Best Drag King NYC' Glam Awards Winner and Drag Out the Vote Ambassador Myster E Mel Kiki is a non-binary, Latinx drag king performer. Born in NYC and raised in Jersey, you can find this king throughout the Jersey, Queens, Brooklyn, and NYC areas.
