Baiwho Sessions #32 is ON with the incredible duo Lucas Rocha and Fábio Peron, we are pleased to have them taking over the cozy room for a session all about Brazilian Rhythms. Fábio Peron is a renowned Brazilian musician, composer, and arranger. He began his musical journey at the age of five and stands out for his fusion of technical mastery and emotional depth on the mandolin. Throughout his career, Fábio has performed and recorded with some of Brazil’s greatest musicians, including Paulo Vanzolini, André Mehmari, and Hamilton de Holanda, among others. Lucas Rocha, rooted in southern Brazilian folk music, his musical language has evolved through deep engagement with choro and samba, drawing inspiration from masters like Raphael Rabello and Baden Powell, while also incorporating influences from jazz and contemporary Brazilian music. This session will feature an original repertoire drawn from the albums Voo das Cores (Rocha, 2021), Alessandro Penezzi & Fábio Peron (2022), Fábio Peron & a Confraria do Som (2015), and Na Trilha do Choro (Peron, 2024), blending classic tracks with unreleased material. They will be joined by Charlotte Algar, a British singer and guitarist who met Lucas and Peron in São Paulo. Charlotte lends her voice to the vocal set of the performance. In 2025, she released her debut album Tejo and has been gaining recognition in the Brazilian music scene for her distinctive interpretations.
