Description
A very stacked night ahead with talent from all over, celebrating 2 years of MIDNIGHT.FM! Featuring: Mike Servito (NY) DJ Haram (NY) Marta Banaszek (PL) Associate (DC) Stos (DC) Bastet (Bmore) Kiva (DC) NOTAFLOF - No one turned away for lack of funds 21+ Two years ago the occupants inside of the home of one Christos, or "Stos" in some circles, gathered and established true party principles. First is a devotion to the precepts of the underground; second is an unwavering awareness for trans and anyone politically oppressed; third is the principle that the dance gathering is something to be cherished and passed to those who will ensure music quality and inclusiveness. To the music, Associate arrived that day with a hernia inducing amount of wax. He did not mix but rather put on track after track telling stories about what the track means for dancers. Stos too pulled vinyl for the day, featuring his first pressing deep cuts that ruled the Detroit airwaves. Big C, Dani, and others sat on laptops either formulating playlists or sketching out ideas. And so Midnight FM formed, rife with ideas, logos, and a blend of dark and different dance music inspired by Detroiter and Radio Legend, The Electrifying Mojo. The first few shows were wildly successful by the crew's standards but not to the business owners. Undaunted, Midnight FM went from place to place until Transmission's opening coincided with huge opportunities to involve proper sound and Midwest Heroes. For its two year, Midnight FM is excited to host Mike Servito. In his many years, Mike's skill and selection alone vaulted him into a fixture of NYC nightlife. In turn, he is now recognized all over the planet, playing festivals like Dekmantel, Dimensions, and Movement. In light of the continuous adulation, his posts are typically with his closest friends, his beloved dog, or an audacious new blend from his incredible record collection. He experiences life through the DJ booth, watching dancers with the careful eye of a master. On March 21,you can dance with unbridled joy to his sounds while he might look at you thinking how he can make you dance harder. Midnight FM is dancing for and celebrating Women's History Month with three deejays. First, Marta Banaszek comes to Transmission from Warsaw Poland via Chicago with fresh energy for driving techno. Second, is Bastet (US) who steadily made a name over the last 15 years as both a live act and DJ. For this night, she will dig among her hard drives for her really good electro, EBM, and industrial. Finally is DJ Haram whose numerous followers prove she is a force. And then comes the stalwart trio whose bond endured numerous injuries, out of state internships, and the occasional ambulance ride. Stos has built a catalog of massive 80s italo informed by summers in Greece as much as childhood in Detroit. Big C aka Ciero aka KIVA built his name via Midnight FM by an intuitive style which only gets stronger the more music he adds to his diet. Associate's description brings this write up to a merciful close. So that is a pretty mighty two year. The core crew will be free by midnight to share their joy with you and hopefully introduce you to people who have helped us along the way. There are many and if they all show up this one will be outstanding.
