OYÁ is a vocal-driven project rooted in harmony, where Gospel is our foundation and ancestry our guide. Our voices are our primary instruments. Gospel, soul, ancestral rhythms, and spoken word intertwine to create a living soundscape where tradition meets freedom, and spirituality meets groove. Through the meeting of Brazilian and African compass, we explore the polyrhythms that have always spoken to one another across the Atlantic. Rhythms that were never truly separated, only carried through memory Created by two Cape Verdean women artists raised between cultures, OYÁ is both a return to our roots and a step into new sonic territories. It is a celebration of breath, rhythm, presence, and collective memory. More than a performance, Oyá is an invitation.
