Pan-Pot, the Berlin-based techno duo of Tassilo Ippenberger and Thomas Benedix, met at SAE Institute and bonded over their shared passion for electronic music. Known for blending experimental sounds, minimal stylings, and dark, atmospheric textures, they established themselves as leading forces in techno with their 2007 debut album, Pan-O-Rama, featuring the hit “Charly.” Tracks like “Confronted” and “Captain My Captain” further cemented their reputation, while their 2015 follow-up album, The Other, showcased their continued evolution. In 2014, they launched their own label, Second State, creating a platform for their music and emerging artists such as Amelie Lens, Indira Paganotto, and Stephan Hinz.
Over the years, Pan-Pot have become fixtures on the global electronic music circuit, performing at renowned festivals and clubs including Time Warp, Awakenings, Glastonbury, Kappa FuturFestival, and Tomorrowland. Their versatility across techno, house, and experimental sounds has also earned them high-profile remixes for artists including Carl Cox and Luke Slater. In 2023, they marked their 20th anniversary with FORTE, a ten-track album reflecting their journey, inspirations, and ongoing artistic reinvention. The following year, FORTE Remixes brought fresh interpretations of the project from artists including Giorgia Angiuli, DAST, and LUMI.
Beyond the dance floor, Pan-Pot continue to expand their creative influence into fashion and visual culture, contributing music to the Haderlump show during Berlin Fashion Week in 2024. That same year, their performance celebrating 30 years of Time Warp reaffirmed their enduring impact on the techno scene. With decades of experience and an ongoing commitment to innovation, Pan-Pot remain influential artists, performers, and tastemakers in electronic music.
Rene Wise is known for a meticulous approach to production and DJing, combining deep, atmospheric soundscapes with raw, modern techno and a strong sense of musical storytelling. Influenced by his early background in drums and percussion under the guidance of his Iranian father, Wise builds intricate, rhythm-driven selections that balance powerful low-end energy with deeper sonic exploration. His dedication to quality over quantity has earned him releases on respected labels such as Mote Evolver, performances at Berghain and Bassiani, and a residency with the underground Eerste Communie parties. In 2024, he launched his own label, Moving Pressure, focused on the physical and emotional impact of sound.
Julie Marghilano is a multifaceted musician, performer, and educator whose musical foundation spans classical violin, jazz, and vocal influences. Known for her vinyl-focused DJ sets and hardware-driven live performances, she brings a versatile approach to electronic music, moving between club environments such as Panorama Bar and more experimental, downtempo vibroacoustic performances. Beyond the dance floor, Julie is committed to fostering creativity and community through collaborations, special events, and Sonic Foundation music production workshops for FLINTA artists. With compilation credits alongside Ricardo Villalobos and Matthew Herbert, her work reflects a deep investment in the physical, emotional, and communal power of sound.
