Description
PERCEBES PRESENTS: "THIS AIN'T CHICAGO" House Party at Carmo Rooftop. Sunday, August 9th, in Lisbon! Percebes comes back together to share music the only way it knows how: with soul, time, and curation. At a moment when the industry has been reduced to one-hour sets and instant ecstasy, our proposal is different — slower, deeper, truer. Two extended sets where the DJ is seen as a storyteller, not a "peak machine": every track gets to breathe, every bassline finds its place, the energy builds in a natural crescendo with gimmicks or shortcuts. It's house music in its purest tradition, the kind once lived in mythical clubs and sorely missing today. GUEST: Andrew Emil — the man behind the Change Request project, based in Chicago. A prolific producer with a background at Trax Studios and mentored by a living legend, Chez Damier, Andrew is one of the most exciting names of Chicago's new wave. Introduced to the art of DJing by figures like Joshua Iz and Derrick Carter, he carries the plurality and essence of what we call house music in its most genuine form. Ka§par - founder of Percebes Música. Shaped by the long sets of the late Frágil, in Bairro Alto, he grew up understanding house as culture, dance, and history, not just as a genre. With curation that's varied yet concise, he builds bridges between aesthetics within a natural crescendo of BPM and intensity. He's also the host of the radio show "O Desvio Padrão" (Rádio Oxigénio), and has just released his fifth original LP, "Thread of Becoming." Together, Andrew Emil and Ka§par promise an afternoon of proper partying, introspection, novelty and nostalgia, from the classic to the new, all with an incredible view over Lisbon. 📅 August 9th, Sunday 🕐 4pm to 11pm 📍 Carmo Rooftop, Lisbon No dress code, no closed concept — everyone is welcome. 🏳️‍🌈 Come for the music, stay for the view and the good company. See you there. ☀️
