To give up. The definition and feel of “relinquish” splits depending on what you let go of. Is it fear, control, or something you might still want but have to release? Is it relief or is it loss? Is the loss relieving? Ambient music makes that release possible by loosening your grip. There is no demand to follow, no pressure to react, no expectation to stay engaged in a certain way. It gives you space to give up. Give up attention, give up tension, give up time. About the artists: Boards Of Canada: Boards of Canada is a Scottish electronic music duo consisting of brothers Michael Sandison and Marcus Eoin, active since 1986. Born in Scotland and raised partly in Calgary, Canada, they formed the group after Marcus joined Michael's band, naming themselves after the National Film Board of Canada documentaries they watched as children. The duo is known for their reclusive nature, rarely granting interviews or performing live since 2001. Their studio albums include the darker Geogaddi (2002), the guitar-infused The Campfire Headphase (2005), and the cinematic Tomorrow's Harvest (2013). As of 2026, they recently released the single "Tape 05" and announced their fifth studio album, Inferno, scheduled for May 29, 2026. Ten & Tracer: Ten and Tracer is Jonathan Canupp. He was born in Boulder, Colorado a while ago. Some rappers say they were born with a microphone in their hand; Jonathan was born with a Macbook, Vaio, Roland JP-8000, Roland JX-10, Electrix FX units, Roland MKS-100, Yamaha FB-01, Violin, Flute, Cello, Minidisk recorder, several vintage reel-to-reels (Sony, Grundig), several cassette and micro-cassette recorders, Reaktor, Max/Msp, Ableton Live, FL Studio, and Adobe Audition in his hand(s). He has many hands. FCKDSKO: Known primarily for techno, he’s started wading in ambient waters, having released a grip of ambient tracks over the last few months, with features on Indefinite Pitch, and Oslated. His sound takes influence from the grandiosity of Tim Hecker’s sound mixed with the warmth of Stars On The Lid. A Safe Space For All <3
