Soul Clap, the duo of Charles Levine (Lonely C) and Eli Goldstein (Bamboozle), emerged from Boston’s 1990s rave scene, where they were shaped by the ethos of P.L.U.R.—peace, love, unity, and respect—and mentored by Caril Mitro of Vinyl Connection. Grounded in the belief that “house wears many hats,” they developed a genre-blending sound rooted in funk, house, and disco traditions while honoring the lineage of dance music’s pioneers.
Their rise came through edits, remixes, and releases on Wolf + Lamb, along with standout mixes like “Extravaganza” and “Bakerman”. Touring globally, they built a reputation for eclectic, boundary-pushing sets. Their 2012 album “EFUNK” defined their signature “electronic funk” sound and led to a collaboration with George Clinton, earning them honorary inclusion in the P-Funk family. This project bridged underground dance music with the bold spirit of funk.
Following “EFUNK”, they contributed to major mix series like “DJ-Kicks”, “Fabric”, and “Watergate”, and released their self-titled album in 2016. Beyond production, they launched Soul Clap Records, co-founded the Crew Love collective, and remained dedicated to education through workshops and community engagement. After exploring solo paths, they reunited for new releases and introduced The Soul Clap Band, expanding into a full live ensemble. Constantly evolving, Soul Clap continues its mission of uniting past and future sounds while fostering connection on dance floors worldwide.
