Description
aufnahme + wiedergabe presents SPK (live) SPK are one of the founding names of industrial music. Formed in Sydney in 1978 by Graeme Revell and Neil Hill, the group helped redefine the possibilities of experimental sound, combining electronic music, noise, ritual, performance art and political provocation into a body of work whose influence continues to resonate across industrial, electronic and extreme music today. Albums such as Information Overload Unit, Leichenschrei, Auto-Da-Fé and the visionary Zamia Lehmanni established SPK as one of the most innovative and uncompromising acts of the post-industrial era. Their work pushed beyond conventional song structures, fusing machine rhythms, orchestral textures, non-Western instrumentation and cinematic atmosphere years before such approaches became commonplace. Following SPK's final performances in the late 1980s, Graeme Revell went on to become one of Hollywood's most celebrated film composers, scoring over one hundred feature films and games, including The Crow, The Craft, From Dusk Till Dawn, Sin City, Blow, Call of Duty and Dune. In 2026, after an absence of almost forty years from the touring circuit, SPK returns to Europe with an entirely new live production. Joined by Robert Revell, Graeme Revell brings SPK's pioneering legacy into the present, combining the group's original spirit of experimentation with cutting-edge digital technologies, immersive visuals and a powerful new sonic architecture. This is not a reunion driven by nostalgia, but the next chapter in one of industrial music's most influential and uncompromising artistic journeys.
