Nuno makes radio.
Long before that, at the dawn of this millennium, he was already blending records in public with a mixer and a pair of decks, always with the ignition of the dancefloor in mind.
On FM radio, he currently hosts two weekly shows. Connected, focused on the broad spectrum of electronic music and broadcast on Rádio Universitária do Minho, and Pérola Negra, aired across Greater Lisbon on Rádio Oxigénio, in Coimbra on RUC, and in the North via RUM. He shares authorship of the latter with Bruma, EARL Francisco Aires Pereira, Ludovic, Tomás Lobo, and Paulo Cunha Martins, delivering two weekly hours of music where forgotten records and unexpectedly familiar ones become the center of the conversation.
To describe his DJ sets in just a few lines, there are two constants: surprise lurking around every turn of the beat, and sharp yet disorienting basslines.
Concrete, robust, muscular music that celebrates — minute after minute — the shared pathways between Electro, Ghetto House, Acid-leaning sounds, Techno and House, Breakbeat, and what has conventionally come to be known as Leftfield.
Expect tight corners, knees scraping the asphalt, and just the right amount of wheelies.
