Description
Join a growing community of Lisbon music professionals, for the first Link Lisboa Mixer Party. We will gather at Tribe Social Club in Praça Luís de Camões, to mix and mingle with potential future collaborators, bookers, teachers, students! This is a party designed for you to promote yourself and your projects! Have a new song coming out? Looking for artists to book at your venue? Seeking a co-writer for a new project? This is the one platform in Lisbon with that potential! Dance the night away and meet likeminded folks in the process. There will be ice breaker activities and some influential organization reps in the house, followed by an after party at a location TBA. We welcome Camboja Selecta on the 1's and 2's, providing all the grooves to keep us vibing into the night. His name is often associated with reggae and hip hop, but that's not all: soul, nu-soul, funk, jazz, and African music are also part of his culture and selections. Camboja is also synonymous with “scratch.” Although he began his career in reggae, ‘scratch’ was a discipline that always intrigued and fascinated him, and he was one of the founding members of the only active collective in Portugal responsible for the promotion and development of Portuguese “turntablism”—the Scratchers Anónimos collective. For ten years, he has been promoting battles and championships, jams, workshops, and events with scratch and turntablism as the main pillars, which are extremely important to the national hip hop culture. Along with breakdancing, rapping, and graffiti, turntablism in DJing is one of the key disciplines of hip hop culture, intrinsically linked to its essence, as it allows DJs and music lovers to put their creative side into practice, bringing together all their talents.
