Description
Since launching in 2017, XOXA has grown from a DIY party into a global platform - working with countless artists through its mix series, events and booking agency. April 24th at their NYC home base, Good Room, XOXA celebrates 9 years of building community and championing marginalized voices across dance floors from NYC to London. The Main Room welcomes London’s I. JORDAN for a rare 3-hour headline set. A pivotal force in UK dance music, Jordan’s sound fuses rave-infused house and propulsive techno with deep Northern roots - euphoric, emotional and built for collective release. From their Ninja Tune debut to their globally acclaimed album I AM JORDAN, Jordan’s rise has been matched by a commitment to community, authenticity and radical trans joy. On support for I. JORDAN is XOXA & Lot Radio resident DJ Shannon setting the tone with big, bold energy and razor-sharp technical skill. Known for masterful layering and fearless blends, she moves through hard-hitting club, breakbeat, ghetto house, techno and global bass with precision and fast fingers. Making their Good Room (Main Room) debut, Boston’s Mx. Blaire brings dazzling vinyl craft and rave-minded intention. Rooted in ’90s house, driving techno and acid, their sets balance resistance and joy - hypnotic, high-impact and built to keep the floor locked through the final moments. Meanwhile in the intimate Bad Room Detroit’s Tammy Lakkis - a true Motor City vinyl selector - joins NYC beloved queer mainstay and Wrecked co-founder Ron Like Hell each with extended 3-hour journeys. With decades immersed in underground techno and house, Ron is known for trippy, panoramic sets rooted in dance floor communion, while Tammy Lakkis brings deep crates and precision for the wonderfully weird and delightfully unique. XOXA is a queer-forward space built on inclusivity and respect for everyone to enjoy music and the dance floor. No forms of discrimination will be tolerated, and entrance is at the discretion of the door staff.
