Zaataric Live • Palestinian Oud X Techno

Zaataric is a Palestinian techno artist whose music grows out of a past full of emotion and resilience. He spent his early years steeped in Palestine’s rich culture and traditional music, then studied musicology and classical guitar at the Conservatory of Music. It was in Europe, though, that he sharpened his craft and found his way deep into electronic music. His sound fuses the traditional with the contemporary: the warm, captivating voice of the oud, Palestine’s emblematic instrument, set against the hypnotic pulse of techno. Through it, Zaataric tells the story of his homeland and works to restore Palestine’s place on the musical map. His name is a tribute to za’atar, the wild thyme that grows defiantly between the rocks of the Palestinian mountains, a symbol of resistance and perseverance.
