Juneteenth marks June 19th 1865 — the day enslaved Black Americans finally received word of their freedom. Two and a half years after it had already been declared. The history is real and it matters.
And so does the celebration.
Every year since, Black Americans have marked this day with music, food, art, dance and culture. This June 20th we are bringing that tradition to Lisbon — and everyone is invited. 🖤🇵🇹
