Gala Cricri

Described by The New York Times as “notably, a magnificent nocturnal hangout” Gala Cricri is an immersive dancefloor set within the halls of Palácio do Grilo, where music and performance come to life among 18th-century frescoes and eccentric decor. A space that blends history and fashion, merging the classical with the contemporary.
The artistic direction is led by Venga Venga, Ricardo Don, and Denny Azevedo—DJs and cultural agitators with over a decade of experience across Portugal, Brazil, and major European capitals. In addition to curating events, the duo frequently performs as DJs, bringing their surrealist atmosphere to the venue’s special nights.
Gala Cricri hosts traditional parties such as the New Years Eve, Masked Ball and Halloween, along with regular nights featuring DJs spinning house, italo disco, glam disco, afrohouse, folktronic, and tropical synths. It also welcomes events from leading collectives and production companies and has hosted celebrations for brands like Puig Group, Gucci, and Cartier. In 2023, it was chosen by Madonna for her birthday party.

Palácio do Grilo
Also known as Palácio dos Duques de Lafões, Palácio do Grilo is a neoclassical architectural complex with Baroque influences, inaugurated in 1760 and classified as a Monument of Public Interest in 2011.
It remained in the possession of the Dukes of Lafões until 2018, when it was acquired and restored by architect Julien Labrousse, who transformed it into a performance venue with a restaurant and bar. The project was awarded the Prix Versailles, UNESCO’s global award for Architecture and Design, in 2023.
In 2022, the Venga Venga duo was invited to create a dancefloor in the palace’s former Academy of Sciences hall, giving rise to Gala Cricri—an exceptional venue occupying the ground floor halls.
