We are house, we are funk, we are disco! Our monthly disco collaboration residency with ATV Records starts in January. We figured out Miami needed a bit more of the disco tunes we love! With a professional musical career stretching nearly 2 decades, J has gained serious attention recently for his original productions and inspired DJ sets, and was called “an innovator of the scene” by Defected Records boss Simon Dunmore. It’s a title he has rightly earned, with releases and remixes on Joey Negro’s Z Records, Soundway Records, his own label Razor-N-Tape, among many others, plus massive new singles and remixes for Glitterbox. J brings a seasoned musicality to everything he touches, whether original productions, remixes or reworks and re-edits. A trained musician, his talent for dazzling live instrumentation is evident in original disco productions like his recent Traxsource #1 Soul/ Funk/Disco track Not That Serious (Big Love), Vertigo (Z Records) and Yo Love (Glitterbox). As a studio musician he has recorded bass, guitar, and/or written string & horn arrangements for Dimitri From Paris, Horse Meat Disco feat. Kathy Sledge, and as the producer of the sprawling Studio 54 Music: Night Magic Vol. 1 project, J reimagined disco classics with brand-new all-live studio recordings, translated through his modern club approach, garnering nearly 1.5 million plays for the lead single Souvenirs.
