Description

Event info: Nublu Club (downstairs) , 151 Avenue C, New York, NY We can’t believe it’s already been one year since our first event and Freshly Pressed 005 is just around the corner! We’re heading back to where it all started, Nublu Club, on Friday, January 27th and this time, we’ll be fundraising for an organization and cause that is very important to us: Human Rights Activists in Iran (HRAI). HRAI is a non-political organization that strives to defend, protect, safeguard and promote human rights in Iran since 2006. Donations allow HRAI to assist the victims of human rights violations in Iran, as well as those who defend them. For more information and to find out how you can take additional action, please visit their website hra-iran.org. Joining the FP residents will be three talented BK based Iranian selectors: Behrooz and Soroosh of Kouk, and Emosho shoshé. We hope that you will join us for this special musical journey and this very special cause. As always, please consider making a donation if you cannot attend the event! Kouk: Brooklyn based, but born out of the underground scene in Iran, KOUK is a duo of all things electronic music. Having grown up in a scene where raves are so illegal you party like there’s no tomorrow, they play genre bending groovy music as if the night will never end. Musicians at heart, they mix as if they’re playing an instrument, blending different flavors of house, breaks, techno and electro to the backdrop of hypnotic acid lines and colorful pads as they take you on their journey. On their days off, you can either find them organizing their party series, MOOD, or in the studio producing anything from dance music to experimental noise no one really wants to hear. Emosho: Emsho shoshé, Iranian born, NYC based, where she found her calling in collecting vinyls while frequenting the various haunts which make up the vibrant Brooklyn underground music landscape. The last 3 years spent in Berlin broadened her vinyl collection and helped widen her musical perspective and pinpoint her sound as a DJ/producer. Set times: 10PM - 12AM Asha B2B Corrina B2B Vivian Wang 12AM - 2AM Emsho shoshé 2AM - 4AM Kouk
