Golden Record NYC couldn’t be prouder to present another showcase of Detroit’s finest. We’re excited to welcome Rick ‘the Godson’ Wilhite for his long awaited Golden Record debut. Rick is the nexus of the best that Detroit has to offer in the form of Danceable Soul whether it is House, Techno, Disco, Funk, etc. A member of Detroit’s super group 3 CHAIRS..along with Kenny Dixon Jr. (Moodymann), Theo Parrish, Marcellus Pittman. A true purveyor of vinyl record culture. We’re also thrilled to host Ash Lauryn for her first Golden Record appearance. A leading voice among Detroit’s younger generation, Ash strikes a balance between two worlds, with an old-school house head foundation and a digital age suaveness, blending her skills as a deejay, writer, curator, and radio host to champion black dance music. Rounding out this lineup is returning Golden Record favorite, Kyle Hall. The prodigious artist was only 15 years old when he made waves with his release on FXHE and on a global scale with his richly layered and emotive DJ sets soon after. Last time Kyle played for us he lit the dance floor up from start to finish and we have no doubt he’ll do it again.
