GS Presents: Lee Gamble, Low Jack, Joanna OJ, BJ Holy

For the second GS Presents at Le Chinois, we welcome Lee Gamble, Low Jack, Joanna OJ and BJ Holy for a night of vigorous, forward-leaning club music and esoteric sounds. Lee Gamble (DJ Set) Lee Gamble is an artist, electronic music composer, and DJ. Over the last several years Lee has released a string of critically acclaimed albums and EPs on seminal electronic music labels PAN and Hyperdub, creating his own UIQ imprint in 2015. His work intersects with installation, performance, written text, technology, sound design and music. His writing was recently published in the book Audint—Unsound: Undead (Urbanomic) and his essay on the voice and its synthetic simulations ‘Dual Space’ was published via Shelter Press in 2023. He has presented work internationally, at Southbank Centre, Tate Modern, ICA London, MMCA, Seoul, MoMA PS1, New York, Sonar Festival, MAC Musée d'art Contemporain, Montréal, Maison de la Radio et de la Musique, Paris and Palace of Culture and Science, Warsaw. Low Jack Low Jack is a Paris-based Honduran DJ, producer and label owner. He co-runs Editions Gravats and Les Disques De La Bretagne. His unique sound blends dancehall, sound art and techno, resulting in noisy and futuristic mutations of the Caribbean sound. His DJ sets can span from Bunker Records’ acid-industrial years, Pan Sonic’s sinusoidal blasts, Cristian Vogel’s off-set techno, George Issakidis’ esoteric and salacious groove, Dance Mania’s ghetto house, East Coast’s hip-hop to post-industrial ambient, drone music and power electronics. Joanna OJ Joanna OJ mutates and transmutes to create mixes telling absurd stories, immersing you in deep dreams and experimental dramas, between aerial bubbles, elusive pulsations and seismic bursts. She runs Caninal, a label to remain lively but fluid in body and nomadic in spirit, as well as curating a monthly show Canine à la furie on Retreat Radio (Malmö, Sweden) and bi-monthly Di Troglodita on Egregore (Toulouse, France). Expect anything from glitchy ambient, intimate breaks with twisted vocals to frenetic bass, chaotic techno and energetic atmospheric drum and bass. BJ Holy BJ Holy is a London-based artist, musician and composer. His work explores the haunted, dreamlike crossroads between technological futures and mythological pasts, combining experimental production and industrial club sounds with choral vocals, medieval instrumentals, embodied sonics, and folkloric narratives.
