Steve Huerta is at the vanguard of house music underground. For the last decade, the LA-born, Berlin-based artist has been refining a deep, groove-based sound where old school tech house funk meets lush technicolor sound design. With releases on esteemed labels, like Slow Life, SlapFunk, and Small Hours, as well as his own Leizure, his records have become buy-on-site for those who like their house sunkissed and swung. Huerta is also a hugely in-demand DJ known for his bag of dusty, under-the-radar digs, and custom tailored edits. In a clubland landscape saturated with sameness, Huerta remains a singular figure. Both in the booth and studio, he displays an intimate and deep knowledge of house music past, present, and future.
Scottish DJ and Small Hours curator, Youandewan, has quietly but consistently forged his own idiosyncratic brand of house and minimal over the last decade. His deeply introspective debut LP caught the attention of Pitchfork in 2016, and since then, the producer has released a batch of timeless club grooves on his other, more stylized imprints, The Brane and Pure Shores. DJ sets at clubbing institutions worldwide have showcased Ewan's maturation into a skilled and versatile selector, with a record bag that captures the best bits of vintage UK tech house and entrancing, acid-laced cruisers from the deeper strains of golden-era electronica.
Topper, originally from Turin, Italy, was raised in a hippie-influenced environment shaped by artists like Jefferson Airplane, Grateful Dead, and Pink Floyd, largely due to his father’s deep impact on his musical and psychedelic upbringing. Drawn naturally to music, he relocated to Berlin in the early 2000s, where he immersed himself in the underground electronic scene, performing with crews like Klangsucht and becoming a resident DJ at Club der Visionäre alongside Daniele Papini for their Noisy Glance party. He later joined Sleep is Commercial as a core artist, contributing significantly to its sound. Following studies in sound engineering and years of studio work, he released his debut LP “Down by the River” in 2014, and after moving into the Pausenraum studio, transitioned into a hardware-based, jam-focused creative process that laid the groundwork for launching three labels in 2015, embodying his identity as a modern, psychedelic-influenced artist.
