Das MBOMBO Mutterschiff ist eine der größten fahrbaren Musik-Stages auf dem AfrikaBurn Festival und bekannt für melodische Sets im Sonnenuntergang. AfrikaBurn ist ein Ableger vom bekannten Burning-Man Festival, das jedoch nicht in Amerika, sondern in der Tankwa Karoo Wüste in Südafrika stattfindet. Im Mittelpunkt des Festivals steht der Aufbau einer temporären kreativen Gemeinschaft, die sich den harten Bedingungen der Wüste stellt und für eine Woche ganz ohne Geld auskommt. Es entstehen gigantische Kunstwerke aus Holz, von denen einige am Ende der Veranstaltung verbrannt werden. Zwischen den Besuchern mit aufwendigen Kleidern sind auch noch „Mutantenfahrzeuge“ unterwegs, um Leute von A nach B zu bringen oder als fahrende Musikbühne verschiedene Dancefloors zu kreieren. Und so eine fahrbahne Bühne ist MBOMBO, wobei wir nicht fahren sondern fliegen. Diese Party ist ein Fundraiser Event und alle Einnahmen fließen in das Mutterschiff MBOMBO und ermöglichen dessen smoothe Landung in der Tankwa Karoo Wüste im kommenden April. Was wir Euch bieten sind Burn DJs – von einem anderen Planeten - und sagen wir mal so: VORSICHT! Könnte Euch in eine andere Galaxie beamen, auch mal so ganz ohne Psychodelika – meine lieben Schollis! The MBOMBO Mothership is one of the biggest mobile music stage at the Afrika Burn Festival, renowned for its melodic sets during sunset. AfrikaBurn is like the offshoot cousin of the famous Burning Man Festival, but instead of USA the festival is happening in the Tankwa Karoo Desert in South Africa. The festival is all about building a temporary creative community, facing the harsh desert conditions, and living a week without cash. Giant wooden artworks emerge, some of which end up getting burned by the event's end. Between crazy people with rocking outfits, you'll also spot "Mutant Vehicles" cruising around, transporting people or serving as mobile music stages for various dance floors. And one of those mobile stages is MBOMBO, but we're not just driving – we're flying. This party is a fundraiser event, and every dime goes into the MBOMBO Mothership, ensuring its smooth touchdown in the Tankwa Karoo Desert next April.
