Mona Lee + The Checkup x Mona Verde

Mona Verde experience is glad to present another night we won't forget. Mona Lee brings an original performance, spicing up her DJ sets with live vocals. From disco to disco and house music of all genres, that’s what she serves. A varied mix of UK & US influenced music, recognizable by funky bass lines, percussive rhythms and happy vocals. Her definition of house music? When it comes from the soul, you’ll feel it. In 2022 her first release “Joyful life” came out with Kerri Chandler on his new album “Spaces & Places”, that got nominated as best album of the year by MixMag. A recent release “Be Yourself” with Romain is following up on the US collabs, which came out in June ‘23. It’s crystal clear that Mona got inspired by soulful vocalists such as Robert Owens, Kerri Chandler, CeCe Peniston, Crystal Waters, Barbara Tucker, Virginia or Lady Linn from FCL and the Belgian label We Play House Recordings. Her first track ever, “Don’t Get Around”, got released on the WPH label, together with WLC & Metrobox. Berlin-based The Checkup has been in his element in recent years and has become synonymous with energetic house sounds of old and new, maintaining a soulful outlook and positive storytelling in his DJ sets, both of which he has received global acknowledgment for. While traveling around the world, he finds himself on a never-ending search for rare 90s house records to uncover gems of the past. The last couple of years were notably the finest year to date as he toured South America twice, played in European hotspots like London, Paris, Amsterdam, Madrid, Barcelona, and Tbilisi, and landed frequent action in Berlin at the likes of Sisyphos, Watergate, About Blank, and Wilde Renate, the home of the Paradise Garage Hommage parties for which he holds a residency and books talent from the house music community inBerlin.
