Join us for round 2 of the Tarot Squadrons party series Ellipsis with underground legends Scan 7 from Detroit, star of the “Italian Underground” Nicola Mazzetti, and Metronomes residents Luigi Sambuy & CUs for a night to remember in an indoor skate park in East Williamsburg. Scan 7: is a mysterious techno collective in Detroit founded by Trackmasta Lou. Always masked when performing. Of undeniable motor city vintage Scan 7 have long been a rotating cast of veiled producers deeply rooted in the underground culture of America’s midwest and the rich musical heritage of Detroit. With close ties to, and allies with Underground Resistance, Scan 7 have canvassed the word of techno worldwide, and the collective are to be counted as a force within the transgressional wave of Detroit artists that navigated the US-European divide to create a historical axis with Berlin. Balaclava-clad and armed with Yamaha rhythm machines, MPCs and mounted mixing desk, Trackmaster Lou and Mr. Hooper helm the project in 2018 with a live show of original, improvised and alternate variations of their music, sequential to unreleased wares and newer cuts most recently given rites of passage through German label Solar One Music, Brussels-based Elypsia and Derrick May’s impenetrable Transmat. Nicola Mazzetti: A star of the “Italian Underground” makes his debut in the US. A DJ since 2003, when he became resident at the historic Milanese NightClub Plastic. In 2009 he opened the Iconic record store Serendipity in Milan, which over the years became an absolute point of reference for the Italian and international scene. As a DJ and producer, in 2010-2020 he devoted himself exclusively to the duo "The Barking Dogs", a project with which he released a series of productions: released on labels such as Optimo and Gomma.In 2020, he focused primarily on his solo project, abandoning the back-to-back formula, and it became a whole new dimension. His newfound enthusiasm allows him to express himself with the same euphoria as an artist at the beginning of his career, but now with a solid musical foundation. Versatility is his main characteristic, his extended sets are a musical journey that touches on different genres, through a selection of tracks that express his uniqueness as a music selector. He is also characterized by his ability to 'read' dance floors, even the most diverse ones, and the natural affinity he creates and shares with them. Luigi Sambuy: (Anjunadeep, Poker Flat, Spectrum, Mechanical) is Metronome's resident and upcoming NYC-based producer. His music has been supported by the likes of Laurent Garnier, HAAi, Moxie, Logic1000, Joris Voorn, Dino Lenny as well as outlets like BBC Radio 1 and NTS. His label, Fais Devoir, saw the light of day earlier this year with Luigi's inaugural single "Here Until Now".
