Kevin Saunderson is one of the foundational architects of Detroit techno, a producer whose work helped shape the language of modern electronic music. As a member of the legendary Belleville Three alongside Juan Atkins and Derrick May, Saunderson helped transform Detroit’s futuristic underground sound into a global movement.
Through projects like Inner City, E-Dancer, and his influential KMS label, he bridged house, techno, soul, and club culture with a sense of rhythm and emotional depth that still resonates across dance music today. Tracks like “Good Life” remain defining records of the genre—timeless, melodic, and built for the dancefloor.
His innovations stretch beyond individual releases. From the creation of the iconic Reese bass sound to genre-blurring remixes and productions, Saunderson’s influence can still be heard across contemporary techno, house, drum & bass, and beyond.
Decades into his career, he remains deeply connected to the future of the culture—continuing to tour, produce, and evolve alongside a new generation, including collaborations with his son Dantiez. More than a legacy act, Kevin Saunderson represents a living link between the origins of Detroit techno and its ongoing evolution worldwide.
