DAFNE RECORDS LAUNCH PARTY AT CASA REÎA O/Y will open the dance with a live set, scoring the sunset to the tune of his funky syncopations. Next up will be Jacob Groening, label head of Kamai Music, whose sultry productions are played the world over by people who take their electronic music with a healthy dose of depth and warmth. Finally, Roderic will take us home well into the night with his trademark thump and playfulness. Dafne’s release EP « Maze in my Head », out on July 15, covers the breadth of the label’s sound aesthetic. The two original songs “Creeping In”, and “Bottle Down” feature the ethereal vocals of NYC-based singer/songwriter Julietta and were written in LA during sessions with matti, Roderic, and Justin Lucas. Bottle Down gets two remixes - one from Xique Xique, an eclectic groover that makes full use of the French producer's genre-defying versatility, and another from Roderic, who pummels in with a heavy hitter sure to shake your stomach loose. DAFNE RECORDS Dafne Records is a collaboration between Roderic, one of Mexico’s most celebrated electronic artists, and his longtime friend and collaborator, Italian executive producer and full-spectrum curator, Matti. Dafne contains two worlds of sound: on one side, melodic house and techno with a bias towards organic textures, and, on the other, experimental vocal electronica, cooked and delivered with intention. https://www.instagram.com/dafnerecords RODERIC Roderic was born in Monterrey, Mexico into a family of artists: his older brother a filmmaker, his middle brother a painter, his mother a creative director, and his father a graphic designer and pianist like his grandmother. At an early age, he explored French theatre acting, classic clown performance, African percussion, piano, and later discov- ered electronic music. He’s been experimenting and ex- ploring for many years to find his sound, and Perfect Mirror was his first step, released in October 2016 by the German record label, Katermukke. After releasing his debut album, he traveled to the Dominican Republic with one of his best friends, Mattia, in search of the best musicians to collab- orate with for his new album, It All Depends, which was released by the same label in 2018. Now he is constantly working and exploring, releasing singles, eps and remixes (reworks). It is hard to categorize or attach his music to any specific genre. Its a well thought cocktail of various cultural influences that are blend into warm synthesized sounds combined with pulsating powerful beats. His unique productions never sound the same and are always a refreshing surprise. Things keep shifting and fusing but still there is this gentle touch to bring some variation to the composition, and let it be sweet driving or surprising subtle. This new genre of music that he created is named organic dance music.
