Description
We’re back @moodring with the talented techno DJ & designer, actuator as our guest host. After meeting through @se_dj_school, one of the things we connected over (at the historic reopening of Paragon with Kevin Saunderson playing), was how important it is to consider all of what we’re a part of not only a cultural renaissance but a political one. One where we gather not just for the hype of playing, but to connect with each other for deeper solidary work together. That’s why we’re excited to have @culturalsolidarity joining us. Cultural solidarity is a mutual aid & generative community hub for cultural workers in the imperial core. The group works to spread information about how cultural movements are a core part of nightlife history, and how art spaces can be catalysts for change. Cultural Solidarity supports cultural workers facing repression and/or financial hardship due to their solidarity work and resistance for Palestine or other oppressed groups. We put on this free event by accepting a percentage of bar sales. We’ll be donating 50% of proceeds to @culturalsolidarity, and encourage you to donate to a Palestine-focused fundraiser of your choosing (we will provide some examples shortly!). Come with your crew, a friend, a date—or come solo and meet some people. All levels are welcome! Just bring a USB, a pair of headphones, and whatever sounds you've been playing with lately, and connect with fellow local selectors and music lovers.
