Based in Washington, DC, USA, TonalTheory is a dynamic, self-taught producer/DJ duo known for their take on high-energy, percussive driving, hard techno. Lending an homage to their classical backgrounds and incorporating melodic influences, their versatility and vision captivate audiences of all genres of music.Their cutting-edge productions has earned them a place in some of the industry’s notable labels such as Das Kollektive, Divine Intervention Records, Say What? Records, SINDEX, and Ōtomo, with additional releases on SUBSTANTIV, T Sessions, GRF Black, and Rated Records. Recently featured in Berlin’s KEYI Magazine, their latest EP “Keep Me Blushin’” has garnered support from some of the top industry producers including Dax J, SPFDJ, Charlotte de Witte, Richie Hawtin, Slam, Gotshell, Acierate, Renegade System, and many more. In addition, major publications like 6AM, Shotgun, The Washington Post, EDM Identity, and XTINA have recognized their contributions to the techno scene, further solidifying their reputation. With numerous local and international releases, the duo launched their own label, Undertone, in 2021. Undertone has quickly become a beacon for boundary-pushing, and hopes to serve as a platform for like-minded producers to showcase their artistry. TonalTheory actively nurtures the local DC music scene by hosting their signature high-energy techno, mind blowing production label nights and collaborating with industry-leading promoters and clubs. Performing everywhere from warehouse raves to clubs and festivals, and headlining their own shows across North America, Europe, and Asia, their DJ sets are signified by relentless hard-hitting techno that simultaneously takes their listeners on a cathartic journey.
