Versus: Isaiah Rashad (TDE) - April 1st, Lisbon. Chattanooga - Tennessee, is the city that saw the birth of the Rapper who stopped the "BET Hip Hop Awards 2013", with a verse acclaimed until today. TDE's Cypher was the highlight of the night and marked Isaiah's debut as another Top Dog. More than a verse, it was a moment that continues to refuse to be overcome by time. Everything happened quickly, but it was expected that it would. Skill, delivery & freshness were emerging with the naked eye and the “2012 Smoker's Club Tour” made that very clear, on a large scale. Alongside Juicy J, Joey Bada$$ and Smoke DZA, among others, Isaiah didn’t backed down. These performances inevitably sparked the attention of several Majors, but from the start, there's been something different about Isaiah. It's a particular glow of someone who doesn't limit himself to being just one more. What followed turned out to be no surprise. Great minds think alike and Isaiah Rashad joins TDE alongside Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q, Jay Rock, SZA, Ab-Soul. His creativity and the fact that he is a prolific artist in his approaches, made him someone who was expected a lot. Consequence? “Cilvia Demo” was published that same year and was automatically acclaimed by the critics. Isaiah presented himself as a musician capable of traveling through different environments and textures, but above all, as someone who doesn't hesitate to break barriers without ever giving in to the comfort of the obvious. In 2016, Rashad finds his voice in “The Sun's Tirade”, an album full of tensions caused by a cycle of self-loathing and self-discovery. Each line is a step towards lucidity and self-knowledge. “The House Is Burning”, released in 2021, introduces us to an artist whose unpretentious affection obscures horrible scars. Almost like someone who's been through hell and back with a shrug. The music that culminates in this second album is a detailed journey through Isaiah's growth as an individual. The idea is clearly that the journey towards an even greater purpose continues. On the 1st of April, Lisbon will witness the performance of one of the most eclectic rappers of the present day and member of the most congruent collective of contemporary Rap.
