Description

Sunday July 11, 2021 Green Room 4PM • Club 3PM Advance Tickets on sale now Tickets: bit.ly/sundaylovemira During its existence from 2004 to 2010, Bar 25 in Berlin developed into one of the most important clubs in the city and also achieved international fame. It was here that Mira established a longtime residency, in the company of notable artists such as Nu, Acid Pauli, Feathered Sun and Christopher Schwarzwälder. A musical language was being formed and evolved at this time that looked past the minimal trends and more towards a nuanced, organic, deep and soulful musical language. Whilst always maintaining a continuous, sensual groove, Mira’s sprawling, hypnotic sets became the soundtrack for many an endless night at Bar25, which eventually became Kater Holzig and now, Kater Blau. The Kater legacy is one of the most important in the evolution of Berlin’s unique house music scene. A true perfectionist, Daniel Cowel has traveled the world in search of the deepest roots of music and matched his geographical education with a deep study of the nature of the art, which is reflected in the breadth and integrity of his sets. An extremely humble and gracious human being, Daniel Cowel has built an international name for himself with his ZERO residency opening sets, carefully warming rooms and crafting slow boiling vibes, each set individually handled with delicate care and respect for whoever comes next. Yet, when his moments to shine arrive, Daniel Cowel delivers, giving us some incredible memories. A symbiotic addition to our night comes from Lola Villa, an intersectional environmentalist artist exploring different aspects of the human experience through sound and visuals. When playing, she invokes landscapes, animals and rituals of her homeland, Colombia, along many places she’s lived in. As a producer and a true 80s child, Lola composes hypnotising rhythms with folkloric and synth influences. Her biggest sources of inspiration are big cities as well as the Amazon. In 2006, Mira moved to Berlin, Europe’s capital of electronic music, where she found her musical home at the legendary Bar25. Situated on the banks of the river Spree with parties that lasted into the middle of the week, Bar25 was the true embodiment of Berlin’s club scene in the 2000s. In the company of notable artists such as Nu, Acid Pauli, Feathered Sun and Christopher Schwarzwälder, a musical language was being formed that looked past the minimal trends of the time towards a more nuanced, organic musical language. It was from this here that Mira rose to fame throughout Europe and the world, as she suddenly became a defining representative of a distinctive sound that was going global. Deep and soulful whilst always maintaining a continuous, sensual groove, Mira’s sprawling, hypnotic sets became the soundtrack for many an endless night at Bar25, Kater Holzig and now, Kater Blau.
