Description

ART EXHIBITION / LOCAL MARKET / PERFORMANCES Sabura is the second and new version of the annual fayre and major event curated by The Blacker The Berry Project, following the first edition back2black, featuring emerging local businesses, talent and visual artists. This time, as the collective’s conceptual era celebrates African-Portuguese culture, we bring over food stalls with traditional dishes from Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique and São Tomé and Príncipe, as well as the warmth of African hall parties to the sound of the most impactful Kizomba, Gumbé, Zouk, Semba, Funaná and Kuduro songs from the late 90s/early 00s brought by the finest babe, Umafricana, Lisbon’s icon, oseias., and south London’s baddest, Don’t Call Me Tako, alongside Niiko, Killian, Stella and Freirianas' performances throughout the afternoon! ✨ *8€ COMMUNITY GUESTLIST (closes Saturday 17th at 2pm) ✨ 10€ GENERAL TICKETS – ONLINE PRICE ✨ 12€ GENERAL TICKETS – DOOR PRICE *PAID ON THE DOOR – for those who identify themselves as Black, Mixed Black, Afro-Latinx, African-American 50% of the proceeds will be donated towards the first edition of Portugal's Black Pride to be held in Lisbon - please refer to our safer spaces policy before buying a ticket as this is an event created by a Black queer person, prioritising those of Black and other ethnic minority backgrounds. 🚨 SAFER SPACES POLICY A gentle reminder of our safer spaces policy written in August 2021 1) We have a ZERO tolerance policy for any kind of prejudice, harassment and intimidation in our events as well as within the community we are trying to build - this means: no sexism, racism, ableism, ageism, homophobia, transphobia, misgendering and any other sort of prejudice based on religious affiliation. 2) Our collective was created to prioritise the Black and queer communities, enabling an intersectional environment often overlooked by the wider public, therefore, please be aware of your privileges before entering our space - do not make any assumptions about people’s identity or pronouns! 3) Keep in mind that not everyone might be down to interact with everyone as people’s comfortability vary, so please do not force yourself into other individuals’ spaces as consent must come from both sides. 4) Please, respect the ticketing tier system in place as this allow us to provide an intentional and safer space for those who identify themselves as Black LGBTQ+. Non-Black allies are expected to pay more as their contribution covers the expenses of those accessing the space for a *cheaper* value - however, donations are always welcomed for those eligible for Tier 1 tickets. If you do not agree with any of the aforementioned policies DO NOT come as this clearly is not a space for you - and for any updates, make sure you follow us on Instagram @theblackertheberryproject or Twitter @tbtbproject.
