Following the success of our first edition, we are elated to announce the date of our next family affair in Lisbon. Bem-vindo à segunda edição do Aliás. This time we will be serving up two authentic Brazilian dishes alongside our friends at Gala CriCri, hosted at the illustrious Palácio do Grilo. We will kickstart the party at midnight with a live samba bloco performance by our friends Bué Tolo, so make sure to arrive early! To bridge the samba into the later hours of the night, we have invited Banana Gold to play Brazilian-infused dance music - ranging from house to disco, and from synth-pop to soca/funk. As last time, Aliás residents will close off the evening with a bang. Pratos do dia: • Bué Tolo (Live Bloco) – 12 to 1:30 • Banana Gold (DJ) – 1:30 to 3 • Aliás Residents (DJ): Opening and closing. Bué Tolo (Live Bloco) – Bué Tolo is a carnival bloco (street band) founded in February 2018 by Brazilians living in Lisbon, with the goal of bringing the true carioca street carnival vibe to the people of Lisbon. Over the years, they have hosted six vibrant carnivals, filling the streets of Lisbon with color and joy, attracting thousands of people to Cais do Sodré. Their repertoire blends iconic samba-enredo songs with rock ‘n’ roll classics, all with a carnival twist. This time, they’ll kick off the night with a walking bloco, starting outside Palácio do Grilo and leading the party inside—a format never seen before. In addition to their carnival parades, Bué Tolo has played at major festivals like Rock in Rio Lisbon (2022), Festival Mar me Quer (Algarve 2022), Festival de Tires (2024), and O Sol da Caparica (2024). We highly recommend arriving early to be part of this unique experience! Banana Gold (BR) – Banana Gold Records is a Rio-NYC fusion label that unites the essence of Rio de Janeiro with the cutting-edge sounds of New York City. Founded by Gaspar Muniz, Beno Ibeas, and Perpettuo, the label explores new pathways in dance music, blending global sounds with Brazilian influences. Their signature style fuses the vibrant energy of Baile Funk with the pulsing beats of Miami bass and the timeless grooves of classic house music. Notable releases include their remix of “Azul” by Gal Costa and collaborations with artists like Seed Selector and KAIR. Recently, Banana Gold made waves with a performance at São Paulo’s Coala Festival, where they also curated artists, showcasing their influence in both music creation and curation on a global scale. DiscoDigo – Hailing from Brazil, DiscoDigo founded Coletivo Pirajá, recognized in Louis Vuitton’s 2023 Rio City Guide for its innovative contributions to the Rio music scene, ‘celebrating the mix of nostalgic rhythms with a fresh and contemporary feel’. Expect a set brimming with Brazilian rhythms and global grooves. Uncle Rio – A Lisbon local with a sound shaped by late nights in Lisbon, Miami, and Maputo, Uncle Rio blends house, electro, and italo sprinkled with acid and African influences. Prepare yourself for infectious blends that will keep you moving.
