CC X Philthtrax: 1905 (Former City Records)

For this special night, we’re trading the familiarity of the club with the intimate, freeing, and dynamic feel of DIY, as CC welcomes Dresden’s 1 9 0 5 (Former City Records) to grace our first TBA party on April 18! Undeniable across the electronic funk and booty realm, the label head, producer, and DJ has blessed dancefloors worldwide with formidable records Ghettoboom Vol 1. and Beats 2 Bomb 2. Big ups to Philthtrax for the transatlantic connection as we await 1 9 0 5's Canadian debut – laying down signature peak-time, hip-swaying mayhem. Joining us are local legends Generator (Philthtrax) and moii-chan, coming hot from the past two CC’s at Sounds Good and Cafeteria. Generator is a producer/DJ fluent in heavy-hitting yet groovy sounds spanning the multitude of genres. His footprint is omnipresent, running the iconic label Philthtrax, which features artists to the likes of Ron Mercy, Turk Turkleton, and Detroit’s Filthiest. Generator is no force to be messed with when it comes to everything booty - and if you caught his hybrid DJ/live set at CC: FLOW, you probably already know. moii-chan is recognized far and wide across Toronto’s dancefloors, with his broad-spanning palette and an infectious knack for crowd control. Outside of DJ’ing, he brings music enthusiasts together through his collective Care Package and, most recently, Happy Feet. Expect nothing less than wizardry on the decks as he sets the tone for the evening. CC mainstays HORSEPOWAH and comma, will deliver the final touches to cap off the night. HORSEPOWAH would be defined by many as straight up sibling shenanigans, but few (in fact none) have experienced a proper Akkai b2b GG STEPS set. Catch their surprised-packed debut, as they whip out unreleased IDs and cheeky blends that test the boundaries between intensity and groove. comma, takes the party into the witching hours, digging into the crates for the weird yet wonderful. stick around and you’ll find out… Come early and stay late - we’re going ‘til 5 this time!
