DA CAPO is a moment to slow down, listen deeply, and appreciate the people, stories, and processes that shape a masterpiece. On August 28th, 2026, we are thrilled to welcome Àbáse to CiCi Studios for a special solo live performance and conversation. Àbáse is the creative vision of Hungarian, Berlin-based producer and keyboardist Szabolcs Bognár. Guided by a search for cosmic grooves and musical unity, his work brings together influences from around the world, shaped by collaborations and residencies in Brazil, New York, Ghana, and South Africa. Blending jazz, electronic music, folk traditions, contemporary classical, and underground club culture, Àbáse creates immersive sonic landscapes that are both deeply personal and globally connected. His music has been praised by MOJO, Songlines, The Guardian, Okayplayer, and Soulection, and championed by influential tastemakers including Gilles Peterson, Jamz Supernova, and BAMBII. As a keyboardist and collaborator, he has worked with artists such as Wayne Snow, Dele Sosimi, Patti Smith, Emmanuel Wilkins, Guilty Simpson, and ZFEX. During the evening, we'll also dive into the creative journey behind his upcoming projects, which draw on his Hungarian and Eastern European roots while continuing to connect musical traditions from across the globe through his distinctive sonic language.
