Actress, the moniker of British producer Darren J. He performs a free-form DJ set. The Berlin-based artist is a classically-trained pianist with as much aptitude on the keys as behind the decks. Discwoman co-founder Emma Burgess-Olson aka Umfang performs her amorphous, polyrhythmic techno productions live. Her raw, abstract sound pulls from the analog sounds and minimal post-production of Detroit techno, acid house, and German minimalism, with an intuitive sense of space and breath. A veteran of the local scene, she maintains a unique, forward-thinking approach to techno as both a sound and social tool.
