Welcome 2024 with EAST Collective's XL events series at Paradiso Amsterdam's main room: Saturday 13th of January with the return of Remy Unger to EAST and Paradiso. R͟E͟M͟Y͟ ͟U͟N͟G͟E͟R͟ Remy Unger is one of the original Dutch techno pioneers, and nearly three decades later, he still remains in the forefront of electronic music. Since the early 90’s, he has bombarded the scene with a steady flow of releases and remixes on labels like Bedrock, Additive and 68 Music. Moreover, his excellent selection and seemless mixing have earned him the reputation of one of Holland’s most reliable and remarkable DJs. But Remy is not one to look back. With several releases planned for labels like Pig & Dan’s Elevate, and collaborations with Warren Fellow and Nuno dos Santos unfolding as we speak, he’s far too busy looking ahead. It all started in 1990, when Remy – hailing from The Hague – got his residency in Amsterdam’s iconic Roxy. It was one of the first clubs on the European mainland to embrace the American house and techno sounds. And this was also the place where Remy learned the craftsmanship of taking the dancefloor on a journey, making him one of Holland’s most in demand DJs. Records like his first, The Traveller (1992) and more importantly, Remy & Sven’s now classic Piano Power (1992) and Backstabber (1999) propelled him into the international scene. Since then, he has toured the world many times over, especially during the late 90’s and early 2000’s; leaving a trail of torn up dancefloors and fierce believers wherever he plays. Understanding this craft like no other, Remy Unger is a musical force to be reckoned with.
