Leaning into several layers of electronic music, from metallic techno, angelic trance and squishy acid to cosmic bleep, Lolsnake (she/they) fuses a maelstrom of textures into their sets, stirring up heady atmospheres and hypnotic moods on the dancefloor, forming a magnetic aesthetic of their own.
The Iraqi-American DJ, visual artist and founder of the queer platform Weeeirdos approaches her work from a far-reaching and curious perspective, always finding ways to inject colour and charisma into the space she commands.
In 2024 alone, the Berghain resident took their sound worldwide, playing in Bassiani Tbilisi, Blitz Munich, Nation of Gondwana, WHOLE united Queer Festival, Phonox London, and many more parties and festivals across Europe and the Americas.
Since 2017, Lolsnake has curated Weeeirdos events across Berlin and beyond. Including hosting a Boiler Room Weeeirdos party in Berlin back in 2023. The party injects playfulness and freedom into the primarily dark and sometimes pretentious aspects of the dance music scene, encouraging clubbers to dress in bold attire and arrive with an open mind. Interdisciplinary artists like Ellen Allien, Boys Noize, Chippy Nonstop, Parrish Smith, and Schacke have recently soundtracked the series.
Chloé Robinson’s new alias marks the final stamp of her evolution into a DJ/producer with a refined musical attention and expanded repertoire of projects. Formerly known as Barely Legal for over a decade of DJing under the wide umbrella of UK bass, grime and dubstep, her subsequent venture into production and the reassembling of the foundations of her own label Pretty Weird Records has grown in parallel to her refreshed multi-genre approach to her selections.
With a compelling mix of polyrhythmic techno, electro, UK garage and more, the London-based artist has kept her new momentum moving through a diligent touring calendar and music schedule. Having toured Europe, Asia, Australia and South America over the years, she has also flexed her curatorial muscle with club tours across the EU and big-name festival stages via Pretty Weird showcases and takeovers.
Other key shows include multiple performances at Glastonbury, Printworks, Circoloco at DC10, Fabric, Warehouse Project and Amnesia to name a few, with these high-profile appearances riding in tandem to radio/streaming features on some of the biggest online platforms in the world. Counting residencies for Radio 1Xtra and Rinse FM as just some of her highlights, she has also been commissioned by the world renowned BBC Essential Mix series, Resident Advisor, Mixmag, Boiler Room and BBC 6 Music for mixes that have been collectively played hundreds of thousands of times.
Beyond her bookings, Chloé has found ongoing support from some of the most influential electronic artists around. Her productions have earned plaudits from the likes of Four Tet, Skrillex, Caribou, Bonobo, Ben UFO, Floating Points and Bradley Zero, and in turn she has been invited to play B2B or part of showcases with Jamie XX, Four Tet, Skrillex, Special Request, Hessle Audio and more.
