À propos
One of the most illustrious names in techno steps into our booth for the first time. Function, the moniker of Brooklyn-born, Berlin-based David Sumner, began his determined career as a resident of Limelight before solidifying his name on the global scale as a founding member of Sandwell District collective with Regis and the late Silent Servant. His ear as a producer and label owner [Infrastructure New York] gleams with a pummeling-yet-polished intensity. Tonight, a mesmerizing blend of refined rhythms, rolling kicks, and a procurement of contemporary techno. Jay York steps in to open the room. New York mainstay DAIYAH debuts in The Atrium. Her unbridled DJ sets lean hard and dark, bringing a fresh voice to landmarks in NYC, Berlin, Detroit, and beyond while pushing the genre forward with fresh lineups for her own event series RNR. 1morning drives the room with a funkier momentum. His vinyl sets present the rugged edge of old-school, mixing crunchy low ends and hard chops with new-school finesse. The Mixtape Club’s’ Butter, who has been organizing parties, hosting radio shows, and working in record stores, since the '90s, handles the vibe UPSTAIRS. - Public Records aims to provide a safer space.
