While riding mopeds through busy Bali intersections, one half of this duo was intrigued by an Indonesian word that appeared on almost every street corner – Warung. Meaning 'small family-run business' it quickly became apparent how intrinsic these Warung were to the culture: self made, the lifeline of the family, and an ever-lasting legacy to carry forth. The concept of Warung couldn’t have been a better inspiration for the sound and project for Aaron Hopkins & Dillon Ames. Both Aaron & Dillon decided to forego their solo projects and together cultivate something rich, from the ground up, with the intention of starting an organic music identity, just like the family businesses in Bali. Enter the duo, Warung. Garnering attention from the top labels and brands of the world such as continuing their mainstay on the Anjunadeep label, releasing with the likes of Armada, This Never Happened, Shen and many more, Warung comes off the back of playing their first Anjunadeep Open Air event in NYC, & Third year at The Explorations festival in Albania, supported and championed by numerous taste makers along the likes of Sasha, Korolova, Pete Tong, Bicep, Paul Van Dyk, Tiesto, Sub Focus, Armin Van Buuren, Tale Of Us & Deep Dish, records charted on Beatport, played on BBC Radio 1, KCRW LA, NPR, Sirius XM and the likes, warung is fast tracked for a lasting impact on the music industry and has no signs of slowly down anytime soon.
