For the sixth part of the GS Presents series, and the last before a summer break, we welcome some of the best selectors in the world - not one to be missed! ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U Versatility does not even come close to describing why the humble Japanese DJ ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U is considered one of the world's best by many of his peers. Your favorite DJ’s favorite DJ, Yukimatsu is originally from Osaka – where he ran his Zone Unknown parties – but is now based in Tokyo. His legendary mastery of the CDJs provides mind-bending but seamless connections of every imaginable genre. From his debut at DJ Nobu’s FUTURE TERROR event to performing three consecutive years at the Berlin Atonal Festival, Yukimatsu’s sets must be heard to be believed. Tom Boogizm If you've spent any time haunting Manchester's fertile musical underground landscape, you'll certainly have come across Tom Boogizm. As a DJ, he's notorious for lengthy, freewheeling sets that are eclectic not as a flex but as a necessity: he's as likely to play Three 6 Mafia or Funkadelic as he is local legends Autechre or Florentino. Heading up the $hotta Tapes label, Boogizm has also developed a reputation for his unclassifiable productions under the Rat Heart moniker, where he's able to lurch into polar zones just as easily as he does in his DJ sets, flickering from deranged lo-fi disco into melancholy blues without missing a beat. It's Northern British eccentricity at its most blunted. gillielove Creating on the land of the Gadigal people or so-called Sydney Australia, Gillielove melds the energy of a dancefloor through storytelling. Hypnotic grooves, dancehall rhythms, broken percussions, mutant basslines, oddball electronics and all things experimental are woven together to emerge a dancer’s revel in the thought-provoking soundscape. Moving through a range of styles and bpm, Gillie is known for seeking out the best new electronic releases and weaving them into a cohesive sonic narrative. Formant Soundsystem The UK sound system collective works in the programming and operation of various music, film, and fashion events. They have showcased artists such as Mad Professor, Black Audio Film Collective, Flora Yin-Wong, Rezzett, John T Gast, and the 70s Krautrock band Embryo, whilst also providing eclectic and often erratic performances themselves. The high-pressure, custom-built sound system is designed to generate maximum bodily sensation while remaining gentle on the ears, resulting in a truly unique experience that is better felt than described. No photos on the dancefloor, please. Le Chinois 6 Pl. du Marché, 93100 Montreuil 23h00 - 05h00
