Saturday, December 6th, Dead Letter No.9 welcomes four seasoned selectors, each in their own lane, bringing the depth, range, and dancefloor instinct that define the room. CARGO: Peter Matson 10PM-12AM Peter Matson is a musician, DJ, producer, and the bandleader behind the seminal NYC post-punk/afro outfit Underground System. His work spans international tours and releases on Soul Clap, Hell Yeah, Planet E, Bastard Jazz, and Heist Recordings, with forthcoming projects on Razor-n-Tape and Heavenly Sweetness. As a performer and DJ, he’s done it all: The Apollo Theater, Central Park SummerStage, Black Flamingo, Good Room, Mexico City loft parties, Fusion Festival in Germany, Eurockéennes de Belfort, and even headlining Laurent Garnier’s Festival Yeah! in France. His sets blend global rhythms, deep-crate discoveries, and a live musician’s touch—bringing a warm, eclectic, high-energy sound to the dancefloor. CARGO: HARUKA 12AM-3AM Brooklyn’s Haruka is the living definition of a DJ’s DJ. After beginning her career as a musician and DJ in Japan, she moved to NYC in 2006 and has spent nearly two decades shaping the city’s underground. A technical, thoughtful, and wildly versatile selector, Haruka moves between electro, techno, house, disco, hip-hop, and rock with total ease always with intention, always with a sharp ear. With regular appearances at Bossa Nova Civic Club, Nowadays, Elsewhere, and Mood Ring, plus infamous sets at the influential BOUND and Fourth World parties, she’s cemented herself as one of Brooklyn’s most seasoned and in-demand DJs. Expect precision, range, and pure dancefloor electricity. In the Foyer, MILLS and XAXA take the wheel from 9PM-3AM, steering the room into high-heat grooves and dance-floor momentum all night long. MILLS is a versatile, genre-fluid DJ from New York with a record collection that reflects a true love for every corner of dance music. Whether he’s playing a warehouse, a big-room club, or a HiFi bar, his sets move effortlessly between Italo and Balearic deep cuts, Disco sleepers, and House gems. Thoughtful curation is his signature—pulling from the past without getting stuck in nostalgia, connecting eras and moods with a steady, intuitive hand. He currently holds residencies at Café Balearica, Carousel, and Suono, the Brooklyn HiFi bar he helped build alongside Balearic legend Danilo Braca. Paris-born and NYC-based for over a decade, DJ XAXA has been shaping the city’s nightlife with a sound rooted in French house, subtle Afro rhythms, and soulful, dance-driven vocals. His sets are high-energy without being heavy-handed—uplifting, groove-forward, and crafted to keep a room moving. Every selection hits with intention, style, and that unmistakable Paris-meets–New York pulse. Free before 10PM w/ RSVP | 21+ Venue opens at 5PM | Happy Hour 5–8PM | Music at 9PM
