Queer. Underground. Berlin Style Friday, October 30 • Denver We're going all out for this one! October 30 is a little extra special as we're celebrating our host's spooky birthday, but more importantly, it's another chance to bring our community together for a night of incredible music, connection, and dancing. We've put together a lineup of some of our favorite DJs, paired with our VOID sound system, custom lighting, and new art installations to make this night special. There's no official theme, but costumes are highly encouraged! Make it sexy, make it weird, make it fun. Come as you are or become something entirely different for the night. This one's for all of us. Let's get lost in the music and dance late into the morning. 🖤 ~~~~~ ~~~~~ ~~~~~ MUTUALISM Mutualism's sets have always been a source of inspiration for us, and it's an absolute blast every time we get to hear her play. Having seen her perform at some of our favorite festivals and venues, we're incredibly excited to bring that energy to HEAT//sink. Mutualism is known for her infectious energy, dynamic sets, and love of collecting + playing vinyl. With a penchant for uplifting melodies, powerful percussion, and divalicious moments, Mutualism takes dancers on a wild ride. Unafraid to play whatever her heart desires - sometimes it’s pretty; sometimes it’s pretty bonkers. And it’s always a party. ~~~~~ ~~~~~ ~~~~~ JUMPR (SF) Hailing from San Francisco, Joe Weidman (aka Jumpr) has been a staple of SF nightlife since 2016. He got his start in the leather scene as the creative director for Fog City Pack before jumping behind the decks himself in 2018. In 2021, Jumpr, along with his dj partner Fawks, became resident of the monthly party Stank, one of SF’s longest running fetish nights. In 2023, he launched Synthia, a party that celebrates the queer sci-fi futurism of the 1970s & 80s with an emphasis on vintage synths & space disco, and along with Fog City Pack resurrected Deviants: Adult Arcade, the closing party of the Folsom Street Fair which boasted 2000 guests in attendance. Jumpr prides himself on being a dance floor filler, agnostic of genre, spinning everything from sweaty bathhouse disco to throbbing techno bangers. Jumpr wants to bring the rush and keep the energy ecstatic. ~~~~~ ~~~~~ ~~~~~ LIZA SPINNELLI (DEN) One of the beating hearts of Denver’s underground dance music scene and truly one of the best DJs we know. Liza played our very first HEAT//sink, and we are incredibly honored to welcome her back for a special vinyl-only closing set. Liza came up in the Chicago party scene of the late 90s, and that influence is solidly reflected in her music. She describes her sound as microhouse with a dash of diva, booty-shaking basslines, and a hefty dose of weird. Anthems will get unabashedly thrown in because they shouldn't live only in the collective memory of Gen X party kids. Vinyl is a way of life. She started buying records in the late 90s, beginning with drum and bass. Quite likely the musical rebellion of a Midwesterner who grew up with Bad Boy Bill on the radio. In the early 2000s, she moved into electro and techno and, by 2010, had slipped into what we now know as microhouse and minimal techno. The Chicago flavor is unmistakable, but she chases some of those peculiar noises that are very reminiscent of DnB and electro. Liza also curates intimate vinyl house parties under the House in the Burbs moniker. Having been part of HEAT//sink from the very beginning, welcoming her back to close the night feels especially meaningful. Few DJs embody the history, heart, and spirit of Denver's underground quite like she does, and we couldn't imagine a better person to bring us home. ~~~~~ ~~~~~ ~~~~~ Important Information: HEAT//sink is a queer party.
