On July 9th at 8PM, Badassery hosts a rare meeting of two outstanding voices in contemporary groove music: Brazilian bassist Moyses Dos Santos and guitarist Jose Rios, best known for his work with Anderson .Paak and the Free Nationals. MOYSES DOS SANTOS: Since relocating from São Paulo to London in the late 2000s, Moyses has built a remarkable international career, collaborating with artists such as Nile Rodgers, Janelle Monáe, Gregory Porter and the legendary Brazilian group Azymuth. Deeply rooted in samba, baião and maracatu, his sound merges Brazilian rhythmic heritage with jazz, funk and soul. His debut album “Maria” — released via Far Out Recordings — is both a personal and musical homecoming, dedicated to his mother and the roots that shaped his journey. JOSE RIOS: Joining him is Jose Rios, guitarist of the Free Nationals, the groundbreaking band behind Anderson .Paak’s unmistakable live sound. Inspired by icons such as Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock and Al Green, the Free Nationals have become a global reference for modern funk, soul and musical freedom. This is gonna be an intimate night of deep grooves, improvisation, soul and musical connection.
