À propos
The Bridge is an ALL TECHNO, ALL VINYL event series. Its purpose is to preserve the art of mixing real records, maintaining a cultural connection between major North American cities, and beyond. The artists for this edition are: T.Linder (Detroit Techno Militia | Detroit) A veteran DJ with decades of experience under his belt, Detroit native T.Linder has done his homework and paid his dues. T.Linder takes a no-nonsense, working-class approach to the art of spinning records. He has kept a busy performance schedule that has taken him to literally thousands of events across North America. He has played at most, if not all, of the venues in Detroit catering to Electronic Music, notably: 2030 Grand River, The Works, Motor Lounge, St.Andrew's Hall, and the Underground Stage at the 2002 Detroit Electronic Music Festival. In 2007, T.Linder released his first EP entitled DTM002, on Detroit Techno Militia (a record label/artist collective that he co-founded). He has also done remix projects for legendary Detroit Techno producers K.Hand, and Scan 7. "A lot of DJs are switching over digital technology as a medium for their performances. I've been very reluctant to take that step. I am a vinyl DJ first and foremost, so I'll probably play records until my favorite labels stop pressing them. Mainly because I find them more reliable. I've never had a record crate crash in the middle of one of my shows and kill all of the music. Additionally, I think there's something to be said for the tradition of DJs playing old fashioned wax with analog turntables. Music from the future, made and performed with equipment from the past!" Antwon Faulkner (Hijacked Records Detroit | Toronto) Antwon Faulkner has been in the game for nearly three decades now. Born and raised in Detroit, Antwon started hustling mixed tapes at the age of sixteen. With music in his blood, this is truly what he was born to do. Antwon is straight up techno and prides himself on being current and remaining relevant. You can rest assured you will always hear the new hot tracks as well as your Detroit classics, which include his own productions peppered throughout his killer DJ sets. Now here is what you won’t see: no software and no laptop. Antwon is currently on a “Bring Back the DJ” crusade. While technology provides us with amazing advances, this is Antwon’s answer to an oversaturated market of “DJs” that haven’t learned the fundamentals of beat matching or don’t have a distinct “sound” based on their own sense and use of timing. Two turntables and a mixer and a whole lot of funk! Marivs (Resource, Blast | Toronto) Marivs's passion for electronic music began in the early 90s. A perfectionist and a techno purist, he has gained a great deal of esteem for his meticulous mixing and for the delicate, driving hypnosis he puts people under from behind the decks. Marivs began professionally DJing before the days of social media and has a deep respect for authentic underground culture; his vision is to expose his audience to the true values of techno.
