[Live Performance] Jurij Fedynsky, Musicien Ukrainien

Jurij Fedynskyj introduces Paris to the cultural tradition of the kobzars of Ukraine: travelling singers and poets who passed down spiritual and historical narratives through song, accompanied by traditional instruments. Plus, a concert of traditional Ukrainian sacred songs, epic psalms, historic songs, folklore, as well as related genres, a talk about the war in Ukraine today, through the heart and history of Ukraine and a demonstration of what a traditional kobzar is today, in the face of a century of aggression against Ukrainian culture. Through storytelling, live demonstrations, and music, he brings this repertoire to life and showcases the sounds of traditional instruments, including the bandura, kobza, and torban. --- À l’occasion de son passage à Paris, Youri Fedynsky propose une présentation-concert pour faire découvrir qui étaient les kobzars et lirnyks : des bardes ukrainiens qui transmettaient, par le chant, des récits spirituels et historiques, accompagnés d’instruments traditionnels. À travers récit, démonstration et musique, il fait découvrir un répertoire ancien et les sonorités d’instruments traditionnels (notamment bandoura, kobza et torbane). L’événement se veut accessible à tous, avec un temps d’échange avec le public.
