Microdrama #1 - Ebrahim Mohammadi

MicroDrama is a stage without a stage. Drama bar will now enrich its programming with this new alternative concept that will merge live music and make local artists perform in a more experimental format, within an intimate set up, in close relationship to the public. Ebrahim is a composer, writer, and santur teacher from Herat, Afghanistan. Afghan culture and the arts, particularly music are under threat of erasure by the Taliban. This reality has further fueled his dedication to preserving the beautiful melodies of Afghanistan through his personal and professional work. Prior to the Taliban’s takeover, Ebrahim was a Santur Music Teacher at the Afghanistan National Institute of Music (ANIM) in Kabul. He has written two books translating folk songs and melodies by great Afghan musicians and songwriters that were passed down for generations but were never written in music notes.
