Sunday Love partners with our Burning Man family 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐭 on June 21st — the Summer Solstice — to bring you a day filled with heart, movement, and magic. Camp Contact will host a special 𝑳𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝑩𝒂𝒛𝒂𝒂𝒓: 𝑩𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒓 𝑬𝒅𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 🔥 with festival gear & costume swap, and for the Wellness Session we're bringing back the Plant Based Pirate for a cacao & sound journey focusing on June's theme: Care.
Bárbara Boeing, a DJ and selector originally from Curitiba, Brazil, didn’t always embrace the music of her homeland. Like many, she initially dismissed her local culture in favor of international sounds, immersing herself in the works of artists like Radiohead and Nirvana. Her journey into DJing began in her early 20s during university, where she met fellow music enthusiast Felipe Muller (Phil Mill), sparking a partnership that would eventually lead to their long-running party, Alter Disco. Initially focused on minimal techno and faster, moodier sounds, Bárbara later took a hiatus from DJing, during which she deeply explored Brazilian music. This exploration reshaped her musical identity, helping her develop a more joyful and colorful sound that now defines her globally loved sets.
Over the years, Bárbara’s dedication, persistence, and infectious musical taste have taken her from local Brazilian parties to some of the most prestigious dance music festivals around the world. Her inclusive party series Alter Disco became a cultural hub, and her first EP *Brasiliana* showcased her expansive influences across dance genres. Now based in Milan, she continues to innovate and share her passion through projects like vinyl-only mixes and her new event series, *Bárbara Convida*, where she invites admired artists to play with her globally. Whether digging for obscure gems or crafting her own tracks, Bárbara’s love for connecting people through music remains at the heart of everything she does.
HOVR’s story is a love story. It began on a piano at the age of 5 and led to becoming a globally celebrated DJ and producer. Born in Germany but feeling at home wherever the music calls, HOVR brings smiles to faces with dirty disco, funky techno and melodic breathers. Making memories with sound and supporting spaces of free expression is HOVRs passion. It has helped them gain international recognition: Their tracks like “My Voice” on Stil vor Talent and “Gravitate” broke into Beatport’s top 10 and attracted 300k+ listeners. They have performed shows at Burning Man, as well as in Australia, Asia, Africa, Latin America, and Europe.
