À propos
This first edition of TOXIC MASC features three of the East Coast's most prominent trans-masculine DJ's teaming up for a boys' night for the books. You don't have to be a man, guy, dude, butch or even masculine yourself to find yourself at this party BUT you DO have to be ready to get down with some butches. This is a party that celebrates that A.B.C.D.-inspired type of masculinity. This is a party that cherishes the fellas that put in the work to fight the patriarchy and doesn't exist at the expense of the femmes that have carried the torch. This is a party for everybody that knows that trans mascs can shred a DJ set, so don't miss these iconic selectors coming together for a sonic showcase for the masc masses LINEUP: Producer and Resident DJ for TOXIC MASC, Samson is a genderqueer DJ that is known for their residency at Trade (T4T) and also for Dyke Disco (Crush). Between her disco and gospel beats that hit with a surprising force of power and his concrete love for techno, Samson approaches music and gender similarly, taking new concepts and smoothly turning them into the familiar. BLAIZE is a trans masculine experimental video artist and DJ based in Brooklyn, NY. Known for his infectious energy behind the decks, his sound ranges from global beats to hard dance music exploring the intersections between afro house, U.S club music, and latin bass. He threads his sets with heavy percussive instruments that reminds you to (re)connect to your heart on the dance-floor. 1/3 of Maricoteca, the party collective for listening to underground sounds from Latin America, El Sucio is a Peruvian DJ that blends latin club, guaracha, neoperreo, and sounds from across the globe to create sets that will keep your ass shaking and body sweating.
